I have lived in Virginia Beach, VA my entire life. I was always a very skinny kid that could never put on weight. Sometime around the age of 30 I started to actually put on weight. I started developing what most refer to as the "dad bod" and although I was still relatively thin, I was not happy with certain parts of my body, mainly my stomach. So I started looking into ways to improve my eating habits since I was mostly eating highly processed junk. I started watching documentaries and "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" by Joe Cross really struck a chord with me. You can watch it on YouTube here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R15FezDA6t8
That documentary, along with a few others about plat-based eating, really made me start to think about changing my diet. On this website, I will document my journey through this change, showing the good and bad of it, the mistakes I make and things I learn, and my hope is to come out of it on the other side healthier, happier and having more energy for my family.
I've always been interested in better ways to stay healthy and documentaries are what kick started me into this journey.
I'm going at this like I think most anyone would that is curious and has a desire to be healthier. I think most people want to be healthy but don't know how to get out of bad habit. So I'm going to try it myself and hopefully help others along the way.
